    Q: eCheques
I have purchased goods with my Paypal/account/Debit card/Credit card. Why has it turned into an eCheque?

    A: Explaination from Paypal:-

eCheques are payments from buyers who have added bank details to their PayPal account, but have yet to provide a backup source such as a debit or credit card.
(If you had a Debit/Credit card registered on your PayPal account it has expired, you will need to renew your details).

Think of these payments as bank transfers. But because they are processed by PayPal, you and your buyer won't need to share your financial details.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is done by Paypal and the SELLER has no control over it.

These eCheques can take 7 - 9 working days to clear. No goods are sent out until the payment clears in case the BUYER decides to cancel the order.

    Q: Ordering Frames Without Glass
Where can I get glass for the frames.

A: If you need to replace the glass or you ordered a frame without glass to save on postage costs - (this can add a substantial amount due to the extra weight of the the glass and additional packing particularly for the larger frames, ordering this way will save you money).

Most standard window glaziers will cut you a piece of glass to fit - (unscrew the box from the frame and take the frame for them to measure).

    Q: What is the aperture?
    What is the aperture?

A: The aperture is the opening inside the frame or mount.

    Example:-
A 10in x 8in frame is the size of the opening inside the frame, excluding the mount.
if you have a 6in x 8in picture and want it framed and mounted you would order a 10in x 8in frame and a mount cut to accommodate a 6in x 8in picture this would give a 1inch mount around the picture.

If you wanted a larger mount around the picture you would order a larger fame.
    Eample:-
    A 10in x 12in frame with a 6in x 8in picture would give a 2in mount around the picture.

    Q: AOL/Internet Explorer Download problems
    1. I am using the AOL browser and I am having problems downloading the PDF files.

    2. I get a blank screen when I click the link.

    3. I am getting the download dialogue box but cannot open it.

    -----------------------------------------

    4. None of the above, but I am still not recieving the download links.

A: Here are some solutions to any download problems:-

    AOL Browser Users

Please visit the following website to ensure you have the correct updated AOL browser:-

    www.winzip.com

If you encounter problems contact AOL Technical Support for assistance

    Other problems that can occur:-
If you have Acrobat Reader installed, and are using Internet Explorer browser, you may have trouble displaying large PDF documents directly from the web. If any PDF link displays only a blank screen when clicked, right-click on the link (click and hold on a Macintosh), and save the file to your hard drive. Then open the PDF file in Acrobat from your hard drive.

Make sure you have the latest version of the Acrobat viewer installed. You can get this software for free at www.Adobe.com.

Decrease your browser security settings to “Medium”. (Go to, Tools, Options,
    Security…)

You may see a blank page when you try to view a PDF file after clicking on a link to a PDF file. This problem occurs when Adobe Acrobat Reader opens inside of your browser window rather than as a separate application. "SAVE" to your hard drive rather than "OPEN" the file. Save the file to somewhere you will remember (usually the DESKTOP is the easiest place to find your files), "RIGHT" click on an empty space of the DESKTOP and from the dialogue box that opens choose "NEW FOLDER" choose a name for your folder, when you click save from the download link navigate to the folder you have just made and click "OK" or "SAVE" which ever appears.

    Changing your default browser.
If you have installed other web browsers such as AOL, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari for Windows, you may have set one of these browsers to be the default browser Windows opens when applications access webpages.

How make Inertnet Explorer your default browser.

    1. Click on the "Tools" button in the toolbar, selecting "Internet Options".

    2. When the "Internet Properties" dialog box appears, click the "Programs" tab.

    3. Underneath "Default web browser", click the "Make default" button.

Making Internet Explorer 7 the default web browser

    4. If desired, check "Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default web browser". This way you will be notified every time you start Internet Explorer if another browser has been set up to be the default.

    5. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.

    Opening the dialogue box.
If you are recieving the download dialogue box but are unable to open the file the cause is usually your browser blocking the download and you have to tell it to allow the file through.

    ---------------------------------

    4. Some Internet Service Providers (ISP) will limit the amount of downloads you are allowed to download per month.

These are large files make sure you have not exceded your download limit for the month.

Q: How do I decide which size frame I want?
How do I decide which size frame I want?

A: If the frame is for a picture, carefully measure your picture, round up to the nearest half inch or full inch and then add 2 inches, this allows for a decent size mount surround so the picture doesn't look as though it has been squashed in.

If for a 3D object, same as above for height and width, this time carefully measure across the object and allow a minimum of 1/4 inch gap behind the glass when deciding how deep a box you want.

The size of the frame applies to the actual opening in the frame think of this as the size of the glass, the glass sits in a rebated edge which is normally 4 - 6 mm). The width of the frame moulding is ignored.

If you are still unsure please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Q: PDF Explained
    What is a PDF download?

    A: PDF stands for:-
    PORTABLE DOCUMENT FILE
When you purchase a PDF file you are not purchasing ready printed pages.
You will receive a link to where the file is stored and you download it on to your hard-drive and you can print off as many copies as you like. (Please read the FAQ on limitaions of use.)
You will need ADOBE READER to open & save your files or any graphics programme that will open PDF files e.g. Adobe photoshop or Coral.
You can find a link to the official Adobe website in the PDF section or on the home page.
Most computers already have this programme installed.

    Q: Re-sizing images
Can I adjust the download images?

A: If you have a graphics program you put the images in and make any adjustments the program will allow, re-sizing, colour etc.

If you are using porous card the ink will 'bleed', try using cheap photographic paper you can get from the supermarkets, then layer on to card.

When printing backing papers in the 'Print dialogue box' check the 'Print borderless' box, this will get rid of the white edge.
    «Previous Top  Next»

    Q: How to size mounts
How do I decide what size mount I want?

A: Measure the exact size of your picture and the exact size of your frame between the rebates.
I will then deduct 2mm from the outside measurement so the mount fits comfortably inside the frame and I will add 2mm to the aperture size so no edges are seen.
No refunds/returns for incorrectly sized mounts, please double check your measurements.

    Q: Shipping times
How long will it take to ship goods?

A: We normally aim to ship goods next working day, if in stock, but this does depend on size and type of order as all frames are made to order. So an allowance of 28 days must be made (usually a lot quicker).
